Just over one week before the big send off, Saturday 21st march at 9am
My fundraising is at $34,000 so nearly at my promised $40,000 target
“My skin is looking much fresher and hydrated after 3 weeks of Alpha-H luxury treatment and with my heavy tiring guest speaking engagements my skin looked better than I felt...so thankyou for your support.”
“I enjoy using the light but effective cleanser especially after six sweaty hours with the SPF 30 Ultra protector on my face when lifesaving here at Noosa Heads.”
“Thankyou for the opportunity to use a large range of Alpha-H products”

Rachel rang from the Noosa Salon... but too late for me to use it, so when I return to Noosa 1st November if that is okay I would love to do it then.
“My brownish sunspots are fading... Which product helps that? I had one noticable one under my eyebrow...thanks”

Thank you for your Alpha-H skin support on this awesome, challenging ride
Skin Products going well and probably half way through my first lot... Hope to catch up ifI can get transport on my two days off at Rochedale 8=9th May.
I have now covered 2,700kms since the 21st of March so will be a sixth of the way around Australia when we get to Brisbane for 2 whole days off... woo hooo.
I have now raised $38,614 with $5,000 pending on me completing the ride ie $1,000 per state/territory... so only $1400 to go!

Just had day off in Darwin and pushing off to Broome so really into the humidity 75% and heat and riding long days some 167kms so 6 hours in the saddle...after 50kms looking for a new position on the seat.
Skin looking good with Alpha- H great SPF 30 sun protector then after 5-6 hour ride finishing at lunch time I can't wait to wash my greasy red dust perspired face with the cleanser.
Camped at Maxwelton Race Course so was able to dress up for the local races which were fun with ex Sydney/ Brisbane race horses and jockeys in their silks on the dirt track. Picnic races for the children/mums/dads and even the old tug of war.
Us cyclists were auctioned off then raced on mountain bikes down the soft track..I was the favourite but in the inside soft track I never had a chance...think they planned it that way as the day raised $900 for Mental Health for Australian Rotary Health.Food all home cooking and only $2.00 for quiche and lemon meringue pie..Yum!
Regards to you all at Alpha-H

I really enjoy the cleansing cream at the end of the 5hour ride in the heat then to spray my face after is sooo cooling.
9,500kms at Fitzroy Crossing now....just over halfway....already had a preliminary celebration at Pee Wees in Darwin on Fanny Bay shouted by a keen supporter of my trip! Talking about food...had my favourite mille feuille or thousand pastries vanilla type slice at a patisserie on Cahills Crossing at the Border General Store in Kakadu so called as it crosses the East Alligator River into Arnhem land...such a wonderful surprise! Sooo fresh and as good as my Peregian Beach and Coolum one.
Enjoyed a short cruise on the Fitzroy River at Geki Gorge this morning with its fresh water crocs sunning themselves in luxury on the stunning limestone river worn cliffs or sandy banks..bit like the Mediterranean in parts..seen in pictures..never been to Europe.
General Store burnt down two days before we arrived so luckily the supply van arrived and the local service station has taken the supplies and the queue was almost out the door.
Finally got onto a computer and resized a pic out of my camera on our day off here as we combined a couple of days riding riding 150kms each day to create more days off as each day a new camp site and some are a bit primitive ..just a patch of grass and dirt just off the road....over the red dust and can't believe how dirty the laundry water gets...have to rinse twice!
Love it when we get an eco toilet with a tank of water and shade....luxury!!...which seems to be happening at a few roadside stops and so necessary with the literally thousands of people and not just nomads going north...all ages Met several young families in their buses home schooling and using School of the Air. You wouldn't believe the luxury vans and rigs that fill the caravan parks and toot as they go past and the road trains...100 tons on wheels flying down the road the gust of air moving us riders across the road ...nice when going the same way as almost pulls us along ..great up the surprisingly many hills out here.
Victoria River stunning and boab trees and termite mounds continually fascinate me as each one so different. Love the changing roadside desert garden. Ngumpan cliffs were stunning and a burnt orange with Grande Canyon shapes..I didn't realise how hilly it is out here around Warmun to Turkey Creek.
There is also a turkey bush which the locals crush and rub on insect bites ..rather a pretty mauve bush which seems out of place in the dry with the gum trees.
It was really funny a few days before the WA border when we realised we had to eat all our apples ...which we ate, stewed and then ate apple crumble for two nights and also honey and bananas so banananed out!
Also learnt that three capfuls of dettol will kill 15 cane toads in a plastic bag and that you need to put cane toads in the fridge first then the freezer or their hibernation mode kicks in if freezer used only...must be the initial shock that does it! We get another day off in Derby then Broome (home billet and a real bed) and a chance to sight see.

Feel as if I'm on my way home now.
Surprise email..sooo hard to get on without a laptop and riding almost everyday rest on the 7th then often not in a town or there on a Sunday!
When back 10th Oct in Melbourne l will be waiting for my new and first grandchild 7th Nov or thereabouts..funny to think the baby is growing the whole time I'm away...only a month to go now for me...the last six have flown. I will be speaking at many rotary clubs there who supported me so that will keep me busy.
South West WA was cold wet and hail riding into Albany..toughest part of ride with the cold, wind and hills. Bonus with all the rain the wild flowers were stunning lining the roads and orchids just off the road discovered on many a toilet stop!
The Nullarbor is taking forever since Norseman seven days ago and still two to go to Ceduna. We rode the 146km straightest stretch of road in Australia from Caiguna to Belladonia sitting on an average of 34kph thanks to a strong westerly on our backs.
Unlike Edward John Eyre at the age of 25 over 160 years ago who thought the slab of limestone "a blot on the face of nature...the sort of place one gets into in bad dreams"...luckily for me I don't have to worry about food and water with our wonderful backup team and road houses (always hanging out for a cappuncino) along the way....it is a bit of a grind as scenery doesn't vary much..I miss the tall eucalypts of our Noosa hinterland and the tropical lushness...sooo dry here.
Quite a few rubbish or second hand trees on the Nullabor..I added a wheel nut spanner I found to one tree which had kettles, saucepans..and the kitchen sink! Another tree was covered in undies only as was one with shoes!
My revolutionary Adamo bike seat I put on in Broome is still looking after my derriere..thank goodness.
I am okay for all my products except I am low on the vit C and when I know where I am staying in Adelaide....with the cold drying wind the hydrating oil at night is wonderful.

Roberta

In Port Augusta over the steep Baxter Range 140km with wind showers and thunderstorms in the after noon so will be pedalling to beat them so looking forward to 2 day break on Thurs in Adelaide and see my old 94yr old aunt such a bright spark and last of the last generation.
Can you send VitC to Mildura Post office by 1st Oct as okay for other products to Melb. Not sure with commitments if I can do a salon in Adelaide unless it is early as not sure when seeing aunt as relying on others for transport.
Do you have salons in large Victorian towns..Mildura,Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong. Will have time in Melbourne...will try and check your site where..Toorak?...or wait till home in Noosa as didn't have time to go there before I left.
